I'm just curious how they are not worth way more. The profits from Bethel sales were about 1.3 or 1.4 billion . I realise that they spent money in the building of the new Warwick facility but total costs for everything couldn't have been more than 100 million .

So how bad off are they? How much did they really need to sell Bethel? They've also sold a crap ton of the 3000 properties. And really only have the money from the sell off of Bethel.

It seems to me they are in the red and have no idea how to get back in the black.

Any thoughts?

Yes I think 3000 is only the beginning. The flock is getting older and losing support from new members.Millenials aren't helping them . I think it's a slow death but only time will tell.

most jws want to be “friends “ with the elders, kind of like having a policeman that you know who might help you out if you are in need..

I didn't get along with too many of them.There were a couple that were like family growing up. But then we moved I got into trouble as a teenager and really found the elders of the new hall too just be a bunch of hypocrites! They were racist and I'm not a minority so im not playing any card here.

quite a few years ago there was a poster here that left the religion because he knew it was simply not true.

however, he returned to jws because he wanted to be with his family.

i don’t know how he is doing but gumby was his name.

I agree minimus. I won't return again! It took every ounce of fight in me to stand up and say this is wrong to my JW family.

They are shunning me now no phone calls for the last 6 months. I had hoped they would investigate but they love men they've never met more than their son. So I guess I know where I rank. Moving forward my children and wife come first I love them with all my heart I will be a better father than I had!

Ok so I left years ago then returned even though I figured it wasn't da troof. But then I had kids I still I reasoned it's not true but theres nothing harmful. Then I saw ARC ,Candace Conti, Jose Lopez and all the other victims. And I decided it ends with me! They can do whatever they want to me. Shun me df me I don't care but my children WILL be able to make their own choice without worry of mom and dad!

how strict were the jehovah’s witnesses you knew about birthday cake?

i knew a girl who saw a few pieces of cake in the break room at her work, and ate a peice, then found out later that it was left over birthday cake.

she felt so guilty and was scared about a bad impression she left on her work mates.

Family is now reaping what they sowed and they don't like it.

i resigned from the jw's in my 20's over 30 years ago, i was immediately shunned by my entire family and it's remained that way with a few exceptions ever since.

one of those exceptions was being contacted by a cousin a few years back and during that conversation i discovered that my mother had been and still was the prime mover in my complete and continuing shunning.

i then used what contacts i had left to confirm it.

I agree with not helping. Let's say the family member was wealthy hypothetically of course. Would they leave you out of the inheritance because you aren't a witness? If the answer is yes then you have the same obligation to them. Absolutely nothing.

I am in a similar boat as my parents have written me off for simply standing my ground and saying I will not support a organisation that's hiding CSA period.
